Jacqui will reflect on her Vinnies’ role and the ongoing journeys of others after the 2025 floods

Jacqui is the 2026 Australia Day Taree Citizen of the Year. This is a very well-deserved award in recognition of all that Jacqui has achieved over many years of service helping others in our community.

Jacqui is also President of the Taree St Vincent De Paul Society and long-term employee of St Joseph’s Primary School in Taree.

Jacqui’s work includes assisting with flood relief, homelessness, those fleeing domestic violence, and families with food and clothing shortages.

She has worked with dedication and commitment but with no thought of personal recognition and is quick to praise and acknowledge other volunteers and first responders during disasters. Jacqui emphasises that the May 2025 floods brought our community back together after the division of Covid.

Jacqui’s first-hand accounts and stories come from not only helping families during the floods but also assisting people with mental illnesses and/or experiencing homelessness. She continues to help with fortitude and optimism.

Jacqui will be able to answer many of your questions about the May flood aftermath that continues to affect our local community. She has much to share about on-going problems based on her personal experiences and will enlighten us all.
