Patrick Kennedy – Paramedic, media adviser and trainer, author, lay preacher

Patrick Kennedy, and his seven siblings, grew up in the shadows of one of Australia’s most notorious prisons, Long Bay state penitentiary at Malabar.

He has written seven books with the most prominent being ‘A Doctor in Africa’ along with ‘Long Bay - a prison history’.

He was an intensive care ambulance paramedic in the early part of his career and ended up being a media spokesperson for many organisations including New South Wales ambulance and New South Wales Health. He was also a media adviser to a state politician in Macquarie St. He was in the media every day for many years before becoming a media trainer.

Today he is retired but continues to undertake Media training for many charities, pro bono, and is an Anglican lay preacher in a small country town called Mungindi which straddles the Queensland and New South Wales border in the outback.
